Placebo has been forced to postpone its forthcoming North American tour after frontman Brian Molko collapsed on stage at Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka, Japan last weekend. According to a statement posted on the band’s website, Molko “picked up a virus, which coupled with jet lag and exhaustion, caused his collapse on stage.”
The 36-year-old singer is expected to make a full recovery, but has been ordered by his doctors to take a 6 week rest. As a result, Placebo has postponed all upcoming dates, including the U.S. leg of “Battle For the Sun” tour, which was scheduled to kick off on September 12th in Portland, Oregon. The band intends to reschedule the dates as soon as possible.
