Prepared to be violated: Kurt Vile set to hit the road this fall

on September 30, 2009, 4:40pm

I like the sound of a Childish Prodigy, it makes sense. Not only are you stuck being gifted well beyond your years, but it seems like everyone takes a hands-off approach with you. Things can get difficult when, as you get older, all those valuable life lessons you did not learn as a child (because you were too busy being a prodigy) come back and bite you in the ass. Now you’re stuck acting childish, but hey at least you’re a prodigy and luckily you have someone like Kurt Vile.

Kurt Vile and the Violators, whose debut LP Childish Prodigy will drop on October 6th on Matador Records, are slated for a bevy of tour dates. His acoustic style is raw and impassioned, cleverly crafted allowing for Kurt Vile’s words to shine. The tour kicks off in Philly with an In-store at AKA Music, swings through the Midwest, around to the west coast and loops back to end in Washington DC on November 5th.

Tickets, as usual, are available via Ticketmaster.com.
