Los Campesinos! detail third album, Romance Is Boring

on October 26, 2009, 10:40am

Need any evidence that the Los Campesinos! are the hardest working band in all of music? Well, since forming in 2006, the Welsh outfit has toured the globe playing backyards and festivals alike, lost a member and found a new one, and have been interviewed by us not once but twice. Oh yeah, and come January 26, 2010 (via Arts&Crafts), they’ll have released three full-length records.

Yes, on that day Los Campesinos! will unveil their third studio album in just two years when they release Romance is Boring. “It is a record about the death and decay of the human body, sex, lost love, mental breakdown, football and, ultimately, that there probably isn’t a light at the end of the tunnel,” the band says of the album, something which is certainly conveyed on its 15 tracks — note the songs titled “We’ve Got Your Back (Documented Minor Emotional Breakdown #2)”, “Plan A”, and “The Sea Is A Good Place To Think Of The Future” — and was accomplished in Seattle, Connecticut, and Monmouthsire, with producer John Goodmanson between March and June of 2009. Guests include Xiu Xiu’s Jamie Stewart, Parenthetical Girls’ Zac Pennington, and Jherek Bischoff.

The album will be available on CD, digital and vinyl. A preview? Check out the previously unveiled “The Sea Is A Good Place To Think Of The Future” below.
