Tim McGraw to embark on massive 2010 North American tour

on October 27, 2009, 2:00pm

When you’ve reached the upper echelon of country music elite like Tim McGraw has, you have to go big when back touring behind your first album in nearly three years. And come 2010, McGraw and his band the Dancehall Doctors will do just that with the 50-date Southern Voice tour.

The tour, which of course will be in support of the October 20th release of McGraw’s s 10th studio album, Southern Voices, will kick off on February 11th, 2010 in Omaha, Nebraska, wind its way through the U.S. and Canada, and end triumphantly in Virginia Beach, Virginia on August 15th. Joining McGraw on tour will be rising country trio Lady Antebellum and The Lost Trailers until April 11th, at which point Love And Theft take the opening act spot.

As an added bonus, the tour will also raise money for the The Neighbor’s Keeper Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, which McGraw and wife Faith Hill started in 2004. The organization focuses on developing relationships between neighbors and to encourage childhood initiatives in areas of need.

But before the show hits the road, McGraw will keep himself busy with a host of end-of-the-year TV appearances. He’ll appear on The Jay Leno Show on October 27th with legendary rocker Gregg Allman to perform Southern Voice and then play The Ellen DeGeneres Show on October 29th. Then, on November 11th, CMT will air Invitation Only: Tim McGraw, where he’ll perform for an intimate audience and take questions.

Tickets for the dates go on sale soon at Ticketmaster.com.
