Owl City tour reads more like plot to systematically take over the world

on December 24, 2009, 9:30am

Owl City? How about more like Owl Globe? Regardless of your thoughts on the band that is Adam Young, the synthpop act is huge. And there’s no better way to show that you deserve a double platinum album than to kill yourself on tour from here to eternity (i.e. May).

The boy wonder has been touring non-stop as it is. But the winter-through-spring leg kicks off January 21st in Kansas City, MO. It powers through stops east of the Mississippi before taking off for Europe in mid-February. After a couple weeks, the European tour ends in Munich, Germany. Then it’s a trip Down Under with Cobra Starship from March 1st to March 21st. The spring leg in the U.S. gets started in Boise, Idaho on March 30th. Cue a lot of playing and bouncing around the continent, and Young finally wraps things up May 2nd in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We’re tired just writing all this up. Young, of course, is just as excited and positive as his music, despite a huge, huge road ahead of him.

“I just wanted to say thank you so very much for your support throughout 2009. It’s been a whirlwind of a year, and I can’t imagine having done it without you,” Young said in a video announcing the spring tour. “It was incredible to play for so many people across the globe this year, and I couldn’t be more excited for 2010. So off we go!”

The U.S shows in January and February are all just about sold out, but you can go here to get more info on the pre-sale for the spring dates. The tour will be supported by bands Paper Route and Lights. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.com.
