Things go from bad to worse for Lil Wayne

on December 16, 2009, 10:05am

We have a feeling that the rest of 2009 and the much of 2010 isn’t going to be so wonderful for Lil Wayne

First, Pitchfork is reporting that Lil Wayne will be sentenced on February 9th, 2010 for attempted criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, which he pleaded guilty to in late October. Stacey Richman, Wayne’s lawyer, said Weezy could begin his one-year sentence that day. Of course, that’s just one week after his rock album Rebirth, which has been moved back quite a bit, is at last scheduled to drop.

But here’s where things really enter the abyss of bad news. Not only did a track off the album, “Drop The World”, leak online, but the Daily Swarm is reporting that Amazon has shipped copies of the album, months before it was ever meant to hit shelves. Many of them were returned back to Amazon during shipping, but a lucky few (i.e. those who pre-ordered) just got an early X-mas present.  No statement yet from Amazon, but enjoy the message board lunacy here.

Wayne’s pain is your pleasure, though. Enjoy “Drop The World” below, which features both Eminem and him rapping AND singing. Or download the MP3 here. Either way, score one for the fans.

And just remember, there’s always 2011, Wayne.
