YACHT to indoctrinate North America

on January 27, 2010, 12:00pm

Last summer, YACHT provided an excellent BBQ jam with “Psychic City” (our 50th favorite song of last year) and followed the single with the quite good See Mystery Lights. Now that we’ve gotten to know them a little better, it has become apparent that YACHT want your soul and may ask you to drink some questionable Kool-Aid when you see them on tour in February and March. Am I alone in that I am totally cool with this?

For their journey through Canada and the U.S., core member Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans have recruited a backing band known as The Straight Gaze. This includes Rob Kieswetter of Bobby Birdman, Jeff Brodsky of Jeffrey Jerusalem and D. Reuben Snyder of Rob Walmart. Support for most dates is Bobby Birdman, but Los Angeles will be lucky enough to see Washed Out open. Not sold yet? Maybe this creepy video will help.

Tickets can be acquired via Ticketmaster.com.
