Pavement gets a tribute album

on February 22, 2010, 5:00pm

This year’s Pavement reunion features everything from an extensive world tour and festival appearances galore to the release of a greatest hits album and reissues. So, it only makes sense that a bunch of indie bands have added to the fun by putting together their very own Pavement tribute album.

Put together by UK indie label Filthy Little Angels, Show Me A Word That Rhymes With Pavement features 15 Pavement covers performed by the likes of Billy Ruffian, Captain Polaroid, Horowitz, Postcode, The International Karate Plus, and Box Elder among others. The renditions promise to cover “all aspects of the Pavement legacy from hits like ‘Carrot Rope’ and ‘Stereo’ through to the wonderfully obscure ‘Secret Knowledge’ of ‘Backroads’.”

And the best part is the whole thing can be had for free beginning March 1st as a digitial download via filthylittleangels.com. We got one track from the effort for you to check out below; more samples here.
