The Ferocious Few to release debut on Birdman Records

on February 21, 2010, 11:00am

Everyone still loves blues-tinged garage rock duos, right? The White Stripes, while absent, are still as popular as ever. The Black Keys are a decidedly bright spot in a Bonnaroo lineup by which the festival’s most hardcore fans are unimpressed.

The latest of this bunch making the rounds is San Francisco outfit The Ferocious Few, a lo-fi garage punk band you are as likely to have seen busking at the corner of 16th and Mission as at the 2008 Download Festival. Singer/guitarist Francisco Fernandez and drummer Daniel Aguilar have built up a following doing just that, and are now ready to release their debut album on South San Francisco’s Birdman Records. The LP is entitled Juices, and comes out April 13th.

You can download the album’s single and closing track, “16th St.”, here. Also be sure to check the guys out at Noise Pop Festival, where they’ll play alongside The Mumlers, The Growlers, and Sonny and the Sunsets. The duo will also be playing South By Southwest next month.
