Let’s be honest. Mrs. Ben Gibbard, aka Zooey Deschanel, is totally like the most crushed on individual in all of indie music. So it’s a bit ironic to learn that the She & Him’er will once again dip her hand into acting, this time as the star of a television show about groupies.
According to Deadline Hollywood, Deschanel is starring in an adapted version of Pamela Des Barres’ memoir I’m With the Band. The book chronicles the sexual conquests Des Barres had with the likes of the Rolling Stones Mick Jagger, Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, and actor Don Johnson.
Deschanel will be executive producer with her longtime manager Sarah Jackson of Seven Summits, and Tim Gibbons, an executive producer of HBOs Curb Your Enthusiasm. The show, which is billed as a dramedy, will be aired on HBO.
Let’s not also forget that Volume Two, the next installment in Zooey and Mr. Ward’s acclaimed project, hit stores on March 23rd via Merge Records.
