Jack White records with… Jay-Z?

“I just did a record with Jay-Z… We did a song together a few weeks ago. It was incredible. I played him something that I’ve been kicking around for a while and he immediately came out with words for it. It’s unbelievable-sounding.”

This quote was pulled from an interview with GQ (via TFB) where guitarist/songwriter/certified creative lunatic Jack White spilled the beans. A record? Surely, he must mean a single. Though come to think of it, Jay-Z did mention last year that he wanted to make “the most experimental record [he] ever made.” He may be amidst a nationwide tour, but you gotta remember, he’s a man of many resources. In sum: Anything’s possible with these two.

Here are some questions to kick around: How does Jack White do it? Will a Jay-Z/Jack White collab change hip-hop forever? Has Jack White gone insane? Will the new song bring Jigga a #1 hit? Does Jack White gain new respect from the hip-hop community? Are The White Stripes finished?

Let the gossip begin…
