Make time this summer for Xylos debut LP

on March 27, 2010, 11:30am

Formed just about a year and a half ago in Brooklyn, NY by lyricist Eric Zeiler, Xylos is pleasantly waking the country with its distinctive sonic breeze, best exemplified by their song “When Summer Comes”, which we recently premiered. After recruiting Aaron Mendolsohn and Nikki Lancy to provide the vocals for five-track EP Bedroom, Xylos was completed with the inclusion of Mike Greenfield on drums and bassist Monika Heidemann. The five-piece combines acoustic, electric, and electronic instruments to produce a tropical, freak-folk sound reminiscent of acts ranging from Fleetwood Mac and the Shins to Paul Simon and Chairlift.

With the assistance of producer Britt Myers (Yeasayer, Chairlift) the Xylos’ debut LP will be available sometime in June. Just in time for summer barbecues, beach getaways, or late-night encounters. For a preview, check out the lead single, “Not Enough”, down below. And, if your going to be somewhere along the East Coast during the next couple months, you can see Xylos live during their upcoming tour.
