While Nick Carter, aka Murs, is relatively fast when it comes to releasing material, this is just ridiculous (but in the best way imaginable). The American rapper recently announced he’ll be releasing ten albums in ten months in 2010.
Since the release of his major label debut, Murs for President, Carter has been working on a variety of projects with multiple artists, including a new collaborative album with producer 9th Wonder, titled Forever. Looks like they’re going to get more than they bargained for with nearly a dozen albums on the way, including a box set in October.
“10 albums 10 songs each in 10 months in the year 2010. 10/10/10 box set will be available,” the rapper recently announced on his Twitter. “Or you can wait till 12/28 for the last piece.” With many fans thinking this could be a joke, he’s mentioned multiple times on Twitter that he’s serious about the release.
As for what will be included? When asked in August of last year about the material he’s working on, Murs said, A lot of people keep asking about Murs and 9th Wonder. It never went away. We never stopped doing shit. Were going to do shit forever. So, Murs and 9th Wonder coming [in 2010]… I got a punk rock group called The Invincibles with this gang called Whole Wheat Bread coming out this year. Ive also been working on some stuff with DJ Quik and Terrace Martin. Were doing a whole ghetto, hood, electro, dance, sex, party record. Weve been working on that. Weve got a few songs knocked out. Ive also got Varsity Blues 2, man. So, I got like 4 records coming out. Im going to have like 10 records in the next year, man. Stay tuned because as soon as I get free from Warner Brothers, its going to be a party.
For Murs fans, it looks like the party’s already started.
