Passion Pit re-issue Manners, stretch out tour…

on March 16, 2010, 3:53pm

Some might call it unnecessary, but Passion Pit plans to re-issue last year’s generation-embalming debut, Manners. The move makes sense. With sold out dates across the world and over 140,000 copies bought, why wouldn’t they capitalize on their success? Hey, if Lady Gaga did it…

Due for release April 13th, the re-issue features brand new artwork — which is a nice touch for those who actually buy physical releases anymore — along with three bonus tracks: “vivid, bare bones” alternates of the original album’s “Sleepyhead” and “Moth’s Wings”, including a cover of the Cranberries’ “Dreams”. If you’ve seen the band over the past year, you’ll know how they’ve been including the latter hit into their sets. Not familiar? Check it out here.

Though, if you’re not apt to double dipping downloading, then perhaps some more dates might perk your interest. In addition to the dates on its current, sprawling tour, Passion Pit have tacked on even more dates. It’s kind of a disjointed trek, too. They’ll return to Florida come June, they’ll stop in Chicago a few times, and they’ll dissipate somewhere in the midwest following a two-night residency at Stubb’s late June. Odds are they’re going to be a bunch of “sleepyheads” by July. (These puns are way too much fun.)

For those of you in Austin, TX this week, you can check out the band’s DJ set at Brooklyn Vegan’s day party hoedown. Or, you can just wait and see ’em when they come through your town — which really, at this point, is just a moment’s notice.
