As we mentioned yesterday, it appears that Josh Homme is ready to reignite Queens of the Stone Age. This August, following the last of Them Crooked Vulture’s upcoming tour dates, the Grammy Award-nominated rock outfit is set to play three dates in Germany, including at this year’s Area 4 music festival alongside Placebo, Blink-182, The Gaslight Anthem, and Billy Talent.
The news follows a February interview in which Homme revealed that QOTSA would finally reissue its 1998 self-titled debut this year and that the release would be supported by a tour that hears the band covering the album in its entirety. The band has yet to officially detail the plans, however if you combine this paragraph with the first paragraph then you can probably assume more information will be coming soon.
That said, before anything goes down, Queens of the Stone Age will look to celebrate next month’s Record Store Day with an exclusive release of its 2000 hit “Feel Good Hit of the Summer”. On April 17th, the band will offer the song as part of a special 10″. A limited edition Them Crooked Vultures picture disc and t-shirt will also be available. For a preview, watch Mr. Homme explain the day in the video below.
