Brandon Flowers solo album is on the way

on April 29, 2010, 5:36pm

Killer news: If you visited The Killers’ website earlier this week, you might have noticed a mysterious countdown leading to some sort of announcement. Well, now the cat… or rather, the flamingo is out of the bag. It’s been revealed that frontman Brandon Flowers is gearing up for the release of his first solo album.

Tentatively titled Flamingo, the only other information available on his new website is a sign up for email updates about “the latest news on Brandon’s solo album.” Related to this announcement is the news that The Killers recently extended their record deal with Universal Publishing, which will now also cover the band’s solo projects. Given that drummer Ronnie Vannucci recently joined alt-country supergroup Mt. Desolation, it looks like the Killers are taking this hiatus business seriously.

Don’t worry about a permanent breakup though, Killers fans. The band stated on its website that “any concerns about the future of the band are unfounded… there are no plans for an indefinite hiatus.”
