They’ve reissued their first three albums, and now the seminal Manchester pop-punk band the Buzzocks have something to show for it. Led by founding member Pete Shelley, the Buzzcocks will be embarking on a two-month North American tour next month.
They’ll begin on the East Coast May 11th, hitting Washington and Baltimore before heading north. After a two-date Canadian swing, they’ll stop in the Midwest before playing four more shows in Canada by the end of the month. They’ll take care of the Northwest, Oakland, and a few So-Cal dates in June. More dates are yet to be announced.
Appropriately enough, the punk rockers will use use the engagements to play their first two albums, Another Music in a Different Kitchen and Love Bites (both released in 1978) in their entirety. “Other hits” are also promised. As mentioned, those two albums, along with 1979’s A Different Kind of Tension were reissued earlier this year with bonus discs containing b-sides, demos, Peel Sessions, and live versions.
