Congratulations, MGMT performed on Saturday Night Live

on April 25, 2010, 1:40pm

We’ve openly shared our fair share of cynicism regarding MGMT and its sophomore release Congratulations. OK, perhaps that negative attitude has turned to downright disgust and indignation at times. But in the spirit of giving and of turning over a new leaf, we’re here to offer you there Saturday Night Live performances completely snark free. You’re welcome. Sorry.

The two songs, the single (from an album that touts no singles), “Flash Delirium” and the tribute that is “Brian Eno”, are two of the more logical choices. Pretty standard performances from the band, who have a shakey relationship with the live setting, regardless of what you think of the content. But just as entertaining, according to our friends at TwentyFourBit, were ?uestlove’s tweets during the performances, including “Why do I get the feeling this album is about to be their Satantic Majesties Request?” Oh, ?uestlove.

Catch the band at all the pre-requisite live shows this summer, including Sasquatch! and Glastonbury.
