Despite being 51 years old, Madonna has not lost her edge. In fact, she may be working even harder than usual to show just how edgy she is as she prepares the follow up to her first film, the $193,000-earning Filth and Wisdom, and gets ready to release a track that promises to be the song of summer 2010. According to her people, at least.
The film, which we told you about in mid-February, is W.E., the story of King Edward VIII and his abdication of the throne to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson. Sound pretty tame, eh? Well, according to ShowBiz411.com, the film will feature, among other things, the Sex Pistols song “Anarchy” playing during a scene that takes place in 1935 and the Sex Pistols’ “God Save The Queen” blaring as Edward is on his deathbed. Take that, creative entropy!
As for her day job, Madge hasn’t forgotten that pop songs pay the bills. So, for summer 2010, Madonna has plans on working with David Guetta, the French house DJ and producer who has spun gold for Britney Spears, Shakira, Kid Cudi, and Akon, on a track called “Boom”. According to Hard Candy Music, the track could hit radio by the end of April and is reportedly going to be some of the best of Guetta’s career. If anyone needs that magic, it could be Madonna.
More details on the album and the track and their respective premieres as they become available.
