The Henry Clay People were a mystery to me until about a week ago. But CoS cameraman Jesse Bloch is enthusiastic about them, and I made it a point to catch their entire opening set for Admiral Radley. They were the kind of band you’d expect to hear big things from; I just didn’t expect to be writing about them the next week.
It seems they also won over fans in Drive-By Truckers, who will take the L.A. boys on a brief tour this May, allowing them more exposure for their summer album release. TBD Records (Radiohead, White Rabbits) will be putting this one out, which also means more press, more chicks and hopefully some more fans, because their blend of punk and feel-good 70’s rock is worth the attention.
More info on the album as it becomes available, but for now, feast on some tour dates, and if you have the means, check them out.
