Delphic reschedules U.S.A. tour dates

on May 19, 2010, 10:25am

Delphic may be the best new band you’ve never been able to see live in the States. Richard Boardman, Matthew Cocksedge, and James Cook came together just over a year ago in Manchester, England, to form the indie-dance outfit, and quickly took the UK by storm. Their initial UK release Acolyte debuted #8 on the album charts and gained a top three nod for the Critics Choice Award at the 2010 Brit Awards. The foursome, augmented by drummer Dan Hadley, then solidified its reputation with earth-shaking UK festival performances at T in the Park, Reading and Leeds, and Bestival.

With all the overseas hype, Dangerbird Records CEO and co-founder Jeff Castelaz signed the band in early April, and will release Acolyte in the States June 29th. Dangerbird and Delphic had planned a massive marketing campaign for the release, but due to the Icelandic volcanic eruption Delphic was not able to make their US shows, including the much anticipated Coachella appearance.

Amidst another hectic European festival tour, Delphic will finally be making an appearance in the States. On June 14th, they will make their U.S. debut at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, and will then travel across the country for shows in San Francisco and LA. Tickets for the Brooklyn show go on sale today via Ticketmaster, while tickets for the San Francisco show can be purchased here and tickets for the LA show with Panthu de Prince are still available here.

Hey, three shows is better than none.
