The Big Four Tour: Coming to a theater near you

on May 21, 2010, 11:40am

As you can see from the tour dates below, metal’s Big Four, aka Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax, have no upcoming dates scheduled outside of Europe. And as we told you back in March, it appears the Big Four are content on keeping that way.

So what are metal fans in the rest of the world supposed to do? How about go to the movies? After all, on June 24th, the metal greats will broadcast their concert at the Sonisphere Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria in a movie theater near you. One-day only screenings are currently set for 450 theaters in more than 140 markets in the U.S., as well as in Europe, Canada, and Latin America. Plus, delayed screenings are planned in Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand.

According to Billboard, showtime will be 7:30 p.m. in each respective time zone, and the film will feature each group’s full sets — 75 minutes for Metallica, 45 minutes for the other groups.

Tickets go on sale starting today Friday, May 21st in the U.S. and internationally starting Friday, May 28th at participating theater box offices and at thebigfourlive.com. Below, we have a trailer for you, just in case you need one.
