Two Gallants’ Adam Stephens recruits MMJ, NIN members for solo debut

on May 24, 2010, 2:10pm

As you may have noticed per our recent news on that forthcoming Graham Nash tribute album, Two Gallants’ Tyson Vogel is out on his own these days. And because Two Gallants is only a two man band, it’s only appropriate that Vogel’s bandmante, singer and guitarist Adam Stephens, is taking similar solo measures.

As TwentyFourBit points out, Stephens has been working on his solo debut with a collection of musical heavyweights, including Nine Inch Nails touring bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen, My Morning Jacket’s Bo Koster and Patrick Hallahan, ex-Whiskeytown member Mike Daly, Atoms For Peace drummer Joey Waronker, Vetiver’s Andy Cabic, Decemberists collaborator Petra Haden, Blood Brothers’ Cody Votolato, Jen Grady, and Blake Mills. What’s more, Joe Chicarelli, best known for his work with the likes of Radiohead, The White Stripes, and The Shins, handled production.

Stephens has posted a few teaser demos and live videos on his MySpace page. He’s planning to support the release with a tour, however, as of now only a May 27th date at The New Parish in Oakland, California has been announced.
