Watch: The Dead Weather performs Sea of Cowards

on May 03, 2010, 9:37pm

Capping off a day that included a tour announcement and dreams of White collaborating with Meg and/or Jay-Z, The Dead Weather took to Third Man Records earlier this evening to perform its forthcoming sophomore effort, Sea of Cowards, in its entirety. In case you missed it, the performance is currently streaming, via MySpace, for the next 24 hours, so check it out for yourself below. Once that’s down, try pressing your luck on YouTube.

And if today hasn’t brought enough for fans of The Dead Weather/Jack White, here’s one more thing to drool over: According to White (via Antiquiet), the performance was recorded to tape, and will be released as a vinyl in the future. In fact, those who showed up at today’s gig at Third Man received a special edition black and blue vinyl. Look for that on eBay… just don’t tell Ted Leo.

Sea of Cowards is officially due for release on May 11th via Third Man Records.
