Can we now officially say that Summer is here? Everybody’s out of school (except for the collegiate overachievers in summer classes or the high school underachievers in summer school), tanks and boardshorts have made their way out of hibernation, and festival frenzy is in full swing. And I’ll be the first to say, damn it feels good. Let yourself go! You’ve been burdened by the cumbersome responsibilities for too long. Let your hair down! Watch TV! Stay up late! Do all three! Together!
Which brings me to my next point. Unbelievable lineup this week (hats off to whomever is in charge of booking for Jimmy Fallon). I know I say that nearly every week, but from the bottom of my heart: This week will be one to remember. But don’t listen to me, the proof is in the pudding, as the old adage goes. Broken Bells will be paying Jimmy Kimmel a visit while another Broken band, this time of the Social Scene kind, will be in NYC with J Fal, and you never know what kind of tricks BSS has up their many sleeves. Also visiting Fallon: Blitzen Trapper and The Gaslight Anthem both sporting new albums and, as the sweet, sweet cherry on top, Friday night we’ll see house band The Roots perform a cut off their highly anticipated album, How I Got Over, with help from the illustrious Yim Yames. Outside of Jimmy Fallon, there’s some good things going on, as well. Hip hop progenitor Cee-Lo will be visiting Jay Leno and Deer Tick will be paying David Letterman a visit. And for those of you hopelessly trapped in 1986, we’ll get back to back performances on Letterman from Cyndi Lauper (you remember “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”) and Devo.
All in all, a fantastic week awaits us night owls.
Heres your Late Night Lobotomy.

Stay tuned, folks!
