Lords of Acid and Thrill Kill Kult to tour this summer

on June 10, 2010, 11:45am

I know what you’re thinking: “Yeah, but isn’t today’s music scene already inundated with raunchy S&M acid/industrial rave? I can’t even wait in the lobby of the dentist’s office without hearing some anonymous sex-kitten over a pulsing drum and bass loop tell me to ‘suck my t*ts like a c*ock s*cker’ for crying out loud.”

You may be right, sir or madam. But that won’t stop the libidinous Lords of Acid and equally erotic throwback My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult from trying to spawn Calligulan orgies across the U.S. this summer. Together, they will share the stage for the first time in 15 years on a tour that could only be called “Sextacy Ball 2010”.

In the ‘credit where credit is due’ column, almost every major market will be hit on the tour, which kicks off July 13th in Seattle and finishes August 14th in Phoenix, AZ. During the tour, both bands will take only four days off in the span of a month. If they’re not careful, that could lead to serious chafing. Bring some salve, fellas!

Lords of Acid haven’t released new material since 2001’s Farstucker — which I desperately hope is super secret code for “fart sucker” — and have seen a revolving door of lead female singers through the years. This tour finds them mining the talents of Lacey Conner, former Nocturne vocalist, most recently seen of Vh1’s “Rock Of Love”. She will, according to the tour’s website, “give voice to the seductions and syllabic sadism of Praga’s songs.” Additionally, the former bass player for Powerman 5000 and ex-Ministry guitarist Sin Quirin will “provide the primal throbs to Lacey’s pulsating gyrations.” I’m never using alliteration again.

Meanwhile, MLwtTKK have been steadily releasing albums throughout the ’90s and ’00s thanks to steadfast band-members Buzz McCoy and Groovie Mann. This year even saw a MLwtTKK long play entitled Death Threat released on their own record label Sleazbox. Their occult-gasm style has kept them on the back burner for years and are still a kinky cult classic in camp circles.

If any of this “arouses” your interest, you can check them out at the dates below and purchase tickets at Ticketmaster.com for most of the dates.
