Its been almost four years since Incubus released Light Grenades, so it shouldnt come as a surprise that news of frontman Brandon Boyds first solo album went almost unnoticed by the rest of the music world. Hes been able to stay busy with many of his non-musical endeavors lately, but get your JNCOs ready because the itch to create sound has finally gotten a hold of bionic-legged brothel dweller once again.
Antiquiet reports that Boyds The Wild Trapeze drops this Tuesday, July 6th, and the video for the sets first single Runaway Train is available now. The clip is a trippy desert jam session that sees the 34-year-old part-time printmaker/author strumming the similar (albeit, more mellow) riffs that weve come to know and love from Incubus over some big ass tribal drums. The three-and-a-half minute clip also gives fans a glimpse of a few of Boyds own handmade, one-of-a-kind, prints, and boats some pretty nifty stop motion animation to boot.
Theres no word on a tour, but for now you can check out the video below, then head over to the singers official website to see what visual goodies hes been cooking up lately.
