Greg Dulli maps out first ever solo tour

on July 26, 2010, 11:45am

Afghan Whigs frontman turned Twilight Singers frontman turned solo artist Greg Dulli has seen and done a lot in his two decade-plus career. Well, everything that is aside from a solo tour.

That will change, however, come this October as Dulli has mapped out plans for a five country, 29 date world tour. Beginning in New Orleans on October 8th, the trek will have the rock legend visits states across the US midwest and east coast before hopping across the Atlantic and arriving in Ireland in late October. From there, Dulli will play multiple dates in the Emerald Isle as well as Portugal and Spain. He’ll then make a stop in Antwerp, Belgium on November 13th before heading back to the states for four west coast dates.

Accompanying Dulli on the endeavor will be Twilight Singers guitarist Dave Rosser and multi-instrumentalist Rick Nelson (Polyphonic Spree). The performances are billed as “stripped down” and the dates are said to be limited, so, needless to say, it’ll prove as a good opportunity to — and ready for even bigger news? — debut of several brand new songs from the forthcoming Twilight Singers album scheduled for release on Sub Pop Records in early 2011. The new Twilight Singers album will be the first release from the group in five years. More details on the new album will be announced later this year.
