Less than a year after completing a seven month prison sentence, T.I. is back in custody. The Atlanta-born rapper was arrested with his wife, Tameka Cottle, in West Hollywood late last night on drug charges, according to the Associated Press.
The couple were arrested following a traffic stop when officers smelled alleged marijuana smoke coming from their vehicle. Bail was set for $10,000.
In October 2007, T.I. was arrested for two felony weapons charges. After pleading guilty, he served seven months in prison and remains on a three year probation.
The rapper’s latest arrest comes amidst the release of his latest feature film, Takers. He was also gearing up for the release of his seventh studio album, King Uncaged, which was due for release later this year. Coincidentally, a possible new track from the album, titled “Pledge Allegiance To The Swag” and which features fellow rapper Rick Ross, leaked onto the Internet hours before T.I.’s arrest last night.
