The Tallest Man on Earth drops new EP

on September 07, 2010, 10:39am

At least based on the words of our own Philip Cosores, The Tallest Man on Earth‘s The Wild Hunt has to be a contender for Album of the Year. The one problem of course is that in today’s age, an album’s shelf life is like three weeks max. So in order to ensure you’re not forgotten, you have to do stuff like drop a brand new EP just weeks before we begin counting up the votes.

That’s what The Tallest Man on Earth has just done, today releasing Sometimes the Blues Is Just A Passing Bird. The surprise EP, which is available now via iTunes and November 9th everywhere else (via Dead Oceans), features five brand new tracks, including tour favorite “Like the Wheel”. The songs were written after The Wild Hunt and were recorded during a break from the band’s recent summer tour.

Below, you can stream both “Like the Wheel” and check out the tracklist.
