The main reason Cee-Lo‘s “Fuck You” song is so successful is due to its ability to capture the agony of heartbreak in a catchy and humorous way. Sure, it’s laced in vulgarity, but the “Fuck You”‘s come off funny instead of shocking. Pitchfork equates it to something you’d hear on Sesame Street and I’m sure just as many Moms as hipsters posted the track on their Facebook wall.
The fun goes even further on the newly unveiled video for the track. “Fuck You” depicts three specific incidents of heartbreak, ranging from childhood to the musician’s college years. Of course, young Cee-Lo steals the show, merely due to the hilarity of watching a little kid mouth “Fuck You” without even thinking twice. Vulgarity and anguish aside, the clip proves just as charming as its soundtrack, so I’ll warn you now: Get ready to see this sprawled across your and your Mom and 50 Cent‘s Facebook feed.
“Fuck You” is among the tracks included on Cee-Lo’s latest studio album Cee-Lo Green is the Ladykiller, which is set to arrive on December 7th. Enjoy the video below. Update: Video removed by label. Head to Cee-Lo’s Facebook to check it out.
