If you had a chance to peruse our coverage of this year’s Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival (which you should if you haven’t), then you’ll notice how pleasantly surprised our own Karina Halle was when she saw Surfer Blood. Even if the festival has been over for a few days, the band aren’t done with pleasant surprises: how’s two new tracks from the Floridian ensemble? Slightly better than pleasant, we’d say.
The video tip came to us from our (new) friend at the blog Brooklyn Goes to Sea, who shot the videos for his own coverage of the Seattle festival. Track No. 1, reportedly titled “I’m Not Ready”, is much in the vain of their previously released stuff, although a bit more mid-tempo and less frantic. The untitled track No. 2, on the other hand, is a lot more dreamy, like the song played at the luau after a long day of psychedelic surfing.
Enjoy both songs below. Want your chance to maybe hear these live? Check the band out on tour with The Drums. As always, stay tuned for more official news regarding track titles and potential release dates as they’re announced.
