Between the sound system, lights, stage set-up, design, and what have you, getting a concert to look and sound the way you want to can be a difficult and expensive venture. But as they say: location, location, location. Brooklyn-based band Dirty Projectors has lucked out in the perfect location for an upcoming show that won’t need any changing to add perfect ambiance.
Forgive us for not noticing earlier, but this is too good not to note. In a few short days, the group is heading to Brookdale, CA to perform at the Historic Brookdale Lodge. Experimental rock band plus “historical lodge” already seems a bit strange (maybe they were inspired by their time with Björk?), but wait until you actually see what this place looks like (via Coachella Board).
To start: it has a river. Yes, an actual river running right through it. Adding to that is the old fashioned, rustic décor that brings nothing short of an immense charm to the room. How the Brookdale Lodge will mesh with Dirty Projectors’s colorful sounds remains to be seen, but we wouldn’t be too worried.
