Does spending your Saturday in Oklahoma City with 999 other Flaming Lips fans while wearing a skeleton costume and a real torch sound like your idea of a good on down? Then come on down to to the band’s fourth annual March of 1000 Skeletons.
The parade, which is scheduled to take place on October 23rd, will also feature “elaborate as festive floats, (in)appropriately adorned cars, walking groups, and plenty of surprises.” And of course, the masters of ceremonies themselves, The Flaming Lips, will be on hand too, probably involved in those aforementioned “plenty of surprises.”
To participate, you just need to purchase a skeleton costume — which comes packaged with a t-shirt and torch — from the band’s website. You must also be at least 18 years old and sign a waiver — because your torch will feature real fire. For a taste of what to expect, peep the below video featuring footage from last year’s march.
