MGMT Internet documentary coming soon

on October 12, 2010, 10:00am

Whether you love them or are totally over it, MGMT is still out there doing their thing, whatever that may be. There’s just no stopping it. So after a sophomore album at which many shrugged and even more gaped, reports of more label influence on number three, and stops at a myriad of festivals (including the upcoming Moogfest, Smoke Out, and Fun Fun Fun Fest), the only question is what’s next?

SPIN.com has the answer, and as it turns out… we’re not quite sure. A trailer of sorts, which you can scope below, showed up on French website La Blogotheque this past weekend. It doesn’t show much beyond the band setting up in a New York recording or performance space sometime in September of this year. This is followed by the opening four lines of the lead single “Flash Delirium” off their most recent offering, Congratulations. After some rough Internet translation, it appears the website spent a day with the boys of MGMT and the result is an intimate, “take away” documentary entitled Camp MGMT.

It’s hard to piece together much more than that. What this video/movie/doc ends up being about is anyone’s guess. So, I suppose the next question is, “are you interested or not”? Let us know below.
