Summer has really been grasping at straws this last week, pushing temps up into the 70s in October in the Midwest. But no matter our delusional wishes, the warmth is ending and fall is nigh, trying to make us don our jean jackets and scarfs, put our hoodies over our tees, and worst of all, make us wear closed toed footwear with socks.
But if you still want to wear your rope sandals and “disc”, I recommend checking out Young The Giant and their live-in-nature performance of “Strings”. Filmed against the setting sun and the tranquil wetlands of northern California, these boys are also trying to hang on to summer with all their might. The video puts you, the viewer, front and center to listen to them. Think Jack Johnson meets Local Natives and you’re right on track. Enjoy this nice little tune before the warm sun sets for the summer.
Young The Giant’s self-titled debut is due for digital release on October 26th and a physical release in January 2011 via Roadrunner Records.
