If youre lucky enough to be getting pummeled with snow or rain on this dreary Wednesday, then Datarock has got something to get you up and going. The Norweigan electro-pop duo have just informed the world that theyll be releasing new material and their first since 2009s Red in a rather unique way.
SPIN is reporting that on March 21st, Fredrick Saroea and Ketil Masnes plan to give you what theyre calling The Most Extravagant Single in History. The single is called Catcher In The Rye and actually comes with 105 bonus tracks, 1500 photos, 20 music videos, and an hour of concert film. If youre wondering how youre going to be able to afford, let alone carry, suck a behemoth, then dont worry because the boys have it all figured out.
The release will be packed in a limited edition custom toy (see to your top right), which is set to be the vessel for a 4GB USB stick carrying all of the material. And while sifting through that many songs on a USB drive sounds like a chore, Saroea and Masnes have also organized the tracks as well. Weve listed the contents below, and you can find more information at the bands website. Download the main track below (via SPIN.com)
