AC/DC concert documentary gets DVD release

on February 08, 2011, 2:20pm

AC/DC’s concert documentary Let There Be Rock first hit screens back in 1980. Now, some two decades later, you’ll be able to watch it with the comfort and quality of DVD. Originally planned for a January release, the movie will finally see DVD distribution in June. The concert footage was filmed at the Pavillion De Paris in France during a December 1979 gig. What makes this particular performance so special is that it occurred just two months before the untimely death of AC/DC’s original frontman, Bon Scott.

Not only do you get to see one of Scott’s last (living) performances, you’re also given rare interviews with the singer filled with “warmth and humility.” Other interviews, backstage antics, and “fantasy sequences” are featured in the film and on the special features, as are newer segments and interviews with the likes of The Metal Show co-host Eddie Trunk and other celebrities.

Check out a clip from the concert, the band performing “Sin City,” above. Thanks to Blabbermouth.net for the heads up.
