Queens of the Stone Age announce 2011 tour dates

Any other day of the year, this would be music’s biggest headline. Just goes to show you how truly incredible the last 12 hours have been. History, people, history!

Anyhow, yes, Queens of the Stone Age have announced 2011 tour dates. As previously reported, the Josh Homme-led outfit will finally reissue their self-titled debut on March 1st, and they’ll support the release by performing the album, in its entirety, in clubs throughout North America this spring. Following an early spring tour of New Zealand and Australia, QOSTA will arrive stateside mid-March. New Orleans get first dibs on the 18th, with the band then making their way up the east coast and into Canada to close out the month. Early April will feature dates across the midwest before the trek wraps up with a two dates in California.

A Livenation pre-sale begins Thursday, February 17th, with a general on-sale to follow Friday, February 18th.

Along with the forthcoming reissue, Domino and Rekords Rekords are releasing a limited-edition 7” of the Queens of the Stone Age track “How To Handle A Rope (A Lesson In The Lariat)” (b/w “Avon”) on February 28th. The release will be limited to 1,000 individually numbered copies. Pre-order asap
