Check Out: UNKLE (feat. Nick Cave) – “Money and Run”

on March 09, 2011, 8:10am

Nick Cave has a lot going on these days, from a new Bad Seeds album to a slew of reissues to work as a musical consultant for the forthcoming film Pinocchio. Yet despite all this, the Australian alt-rock god still found time recently to add another bullet point to his impressive resume: a collaboration with UK trip-hoppers UNKLE.

As previously reported, Cave lent his vocals to “Money and Run”, one of five tracks set to appear on UNKLE’s new EP, Only The Lonely, due for release April 5th. Despite Cave’s long admiration for the James Lavelle-led outfit, the song marks the first collaboration between the two acclaimed acts.

“I always had a huge soft spot for UNKLE — their pop sensibilities, their hooks, big choruses, their super-treated production — so when they sent me some music to sing over I jumped at the chance,” explained Cave in an issued statement.

Below, you can stream the end result, which Cave describes as a “joyful racket of the music. It’s a fucking hit.” Then pick up the entire EP, which also includes collaborations with The Duke Spirit’s Liela Moss, Gavin Clark, and ex-Sleepy Sun singer Rachel Fannan, via UNKLE’s online store.

Only The Lonely Tracklist:
01. Money and Run (feat, Nick Cave)
02. The Dog Is Black (feat, Leila Moss)
03. Only The Lonely (dub)
04. Wash The Love Away (feat. Gavin Clark)
05. Sunday Song (feat. Rachel Fannan)
