Rap music has had quite a few songs dedicated to New York City recently. Readnex Poetry Squad is the latest to join in with a dedication to the five boroughs, or to be more specific, to Brooklyn. From an apartment complex, basketball court, or graffitied wall with slogans like “Be different,” the group show their love for the borough, rapping about growing up in the area and the connections they made. When it comes to New Yorkers, those connections are worth more than any famous landmark. “A Tree Grows In A Place Called Home” is from ReadNex’s “Day Before Sound” LP.
