With the majesty of summer preparing to unleash its glorious sunshine upon us in the coming months, it’s all most of us can do but to turn to thoughts of white sand beaches and exotic getaways. Unfortunately, these Virgin Islands has nothing to do with girls in bikinis or fruity cocktails; instead, this Seattle band is all about kicking out the heavy jams, as they do in the far-from-tropical clip for “No Doctor”.
The band’s simple brand of catchy, politically-conscious rock doesn’t need much to get the listener going. Featuring the band jamming in what appears to be an abandoned medical facility and singer Michael Jaworski being wheeled around on a gurney, the imagery is basic and almost goofy; the rock music, however, is where all the attention should be placed. Oh, and for those attentive viewers out there, try to find the shots where Jaworksi has his hand bloodied after injuring it during the last shot and requiring a trip to the ER.
Head to Cluster 1 to take one last look at anything dreary. The song is off the band’s upcoming album Ernie Chambers v. God (a reference to Nebraska State Senator Ernie Chambers suing God for “terroristic threats”), which drops May 10th via The Control Group. The band will also be on tour starting May 6th, with the full schedule listed below.
