Mark Ronson is best known for being a producer to a number of great, albeit specific set of artists. His long list of clients, which dates back to 1998, includes recent big-names like rapper Wale, songbirds Lily Allen and Adele, and pop overlords Duran Duran. So, when it was first announced that Ronson would be working with grimy rockers Black Lips on their new album Arabia Mountain, some people might have wondered what he’d do to the sound of the Atlanta four-piece.

For our third sneak peak off the forthcoming LP, the band has dropped a decidedly British Invasion-esque offering titled “New Direction”. The track, available for sampling below (via RollingStone.com), is a concise, high-energy affair the takes the band’s extraneous tendencies and hones them to their most fun and effective. Perhaps odd couples really can live happily ever after.

Arabia Mountain hits stores June 7th through Vice Records. Two other early previews are available in the form of “Go Out and Get It!” and the video for “Modern Art”.

Update: The Black Lips have also announced another round of U.S. tour dates leading up to their appearance at Lollapalooza. Find their complete itinerary below.
