Check Out: J. Cole – “Disgusting”

on May 04, 2011, 4:20pm

Since dropping his first mixtape back in late 2007, J. Cole has seen his stock in the rap game rise. From working with Kanye West to helping to create an actually enjoyable Diddy song and dropping top-notch mixtapes like Friday Night Lights, the North Carolina MC has established himself as a name to watch. The one thing he has yet to do, however, is drop a debut album. While there’s no word when that effort will see the light of day, Cole did recently release what he’s calling a “B-side single for the summer” in the form of a little number called “Disgusting” (via Rap-Up.com).

Living up to its title, the song makes several toilet jokes with lines like “Yeah they talk, but they don’t know nuthin’/ Ni**a eat a dick, we the shit, no flushin’ ” and “You know how I know I’m the shit? I clog the toilet.”  While that kind of low-brow humor may have made us laugh as children (OK, and a little now), it gives us a better understanding of why this one probably won’t make the LP. Well, at least we know he’s hard at work!

As for album news, Cole tweeted yesterday evening that “All singles done. Album ridiculous. Title Perfect. Music incredible. Thank you for your patience. Let’s change the game.”  Whether that means the LP is out within this year, however, is still undecided. In the meantime, fans can check out the rapper on tour with Rihanna and Cee-Lo Green starting this June. Check out the full schedule after hitting play below.
