Citizens Arrest dish out first release in 21 years

on May 17, 2011, 2:00pm

East Coast hardcore legends Citizens Arrest have been on a roll ever since reuniting last September, when we also learned that new music was on its way. Now that small bit of news has come to light with the May 15th release of Soaked In Others Blood, the quintet’s first studio effort in 21 years. Working with innovative label Coextinction Recordings, the one-off release is a four-track EP that’s fast, fun, and to the point. Everything you want in your friendly neighborhood hardcore band.

At the moment, the EP is available online only but other formats are not out of the question according to founding member Ted Leo (yep, that Ted Leo). “Vinyl would be great, and I’m sure there’ll be something in the near future. . .” Head on over to the Coextinction Recordings website to hear samples of each track and also get your hands on a download of the new EP (a steal at $2.99). Peep the tracklist below.

In addition to the release of the new EP, Citizens Arrest will continue to peform to rabid fans when they can. The band is confirmed to make appearances at Maryland Death Fest and Chaos in Tejas on May 29th and June 3rd, respectively, and will also relive their days as a NYHC band with a set in Brooklyn on May 31st.
