Crystal Antlers announce new album, Two-Way Mirror

on May 06, 2011, 12:30pm

Following the release of their debut full-length Tentacles in 2009, which also happened to be the last new release by legendary Chicago imprint Touch and Go, Long Beach, CA’s Crystal Antlers spent over a year plugging the album with nine U.S./European tours. By February 2010, the indie-rock outfit decided to turn their road trip south toward the small farming town of La Punta Banda, Mexico to begin the writing process for their sophomore effort. Now, 15 months later, and the band is finally giving fans a bit of a taste with “Summer Solstice”.

“Summer Solstice” is the first track off Crystal Antlers’ forthcoming 11-track effort, Two Way Mirror, and it can be streamed below and/or downloaded at the band’s website for the price of an email address. The tracks were recorded in September 2010 at the Compound Studio in Long Beach, CA with Ikey Owens serving as producer, plus Athony Arvizu and Jeff Lewis sitting in as engineers – all of whom worked on the seminal Crystal Antlers EP. The complete tracklist is available below for your viewing pleasure.

Two Way Mirror is set to drop July 12 via Recreation Ltd., a project management company created by the band with manager Phil Hoelting. Ahead of the release, Crystal Antlers will be hitting the road for a few rounds of West Coast appearances. The band will stick pretty close to home, with shows in Pomona, CA, Tucson, AZ, Phoenix, AZ, and multiple dates in Austin, TX and Los Angeles, CA
