After offering an early taste with a pair of singles earlier this year, David Lynch will release his full length electronic album in June. According to Ultima Hora Ibiza (via Welcome to Twin Peaks), the acclaimed director/artist/coffee maker made the announcement yesterday during his keynote speech at the International Music Summit in Ibiza, where he appeared via Skype.
The album will reportedly include a “dozen songs inspired by modern blues, folk, indie, dance music, and the work of Lynchs longtime collaborator, Angelo Badalamenti.” Big Dean Hurley handled the LP’s engineering, and the the production is said to be almost “100% digital technology” despite the vintage sound.
Speaking of the record, Lynch said, The songs are like pictures for me, they all have stories. There is a scene for each song.” He was also asked whether hell ever perform his songs live, to which he replied, Im afraid that will not happen, my friend.
