Dispatch announces first release in over 10 years

on May 12, 2011, 9:27am

Ahead of their first U.S. tour in nearly a decade, the reunited Dispatch have laid out plans for their first release since 2000’s Who Are We Living For. And it’s coming very soon. Like, next week soon.

This coming Tuesday, May 17th, the indie-folk jam band will release a six-song, self-titled EP through iTunes and other online retailers. Physical copies will also be available for purchase during the band’s upcoming tour dates. Produced by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol), the effort includes “Melon Bend”, which the band debuted on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and has since released as a free digital download.

According to an issued press release, Dispatch plan to follow up the EP with a full length album in early 2012. In the meantime, they’ll be embarking on that aforementioned reunion tour, which kicks off June 4th with a three-night stint at the legendary Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado. Find all the band’s confirmed tour dates below. Tickets can be obtained via our Concert Calendar.
