Friendly Fires to tour everywhere this summer, fall

on May 26, 2011, 2:36pm

Creating an effort of pure, unadulterated arena-sized electro music, Friendly Fires have forever immortalized an energy that exists in the wilds of clubs and discos across the world (or in tabs of acid). Now, the English outfit will be recreating that same tone live with a gigantic tour of North America and beyond currently in progress (via JamBase).

For the rest of May and into mid-June, the lads will play a set of shows across Canada, the Midwest, and the Pacific Northwest prior to finishing up in California, at which point they’ll head to Germany for the Hurricane and Southside Festivals on June 17th-19th. From there, kicking off with Glastonbury, it’s a slew of European festival dates, including T in the Park and Oxegen, before ending their run at the Benicassim Festival in mid-July.

After trouncing around Europe’s finest festivals, the band will play Splendour In The Grass in late July and Lollapalooza on August 5th-7th. Then, it’s back to Europe for Pukkelpop on August 18th-20th  and Reading & Leeds in late August. From there, after a couple random U.S. shows and some well-deserved R&R  in September, it’s back to the grind with a dozen or so dates in October throughout the U.S., including a gig at Langerado, plus shows in Florida, Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL, and beyond before wrapping up on October 27th in Boston, MA. Accompanying the band until June 11th will be Wise Blood.

It’s like a Family Circus “Where’s Billy Been Causing Trouble” strip, but around the world and with Friendly Fires.

Check out the entire tour schedule below. Pala is out now on XL Recordings.
