Last Night: Twin Shadow builds “Castles In The Snow” with Fallon

on May 06, 2011, 9:52am

George Lewis Jr. is a pretty charismatic guy. The Brooklyn-by-way-of Florida native has been making a name for himself by playing shows in support of his debut LP, Forget, ever since it hit shelves last year, and now it seems as if that hard work is starting to pay dividends. Our own Jeremy Larson felt like he was “ogling a royal infant” when he caught Lewis Jr. – who performs under the Twin Shadow moniker – at November date opening with Glasser in Chicago, and while Larson undoubtedly fell under the spell of what he calls “…a black Morrisey, a glo-fi Kings of Convenience, a more dower Prince…,” Lewis Jr. and his band just took to NBC to give the rest of America a chance to be impressed too.

Thanks to The Audio Perv, interested parties can look up and see a rather dapper looking Lewis Jr. hitting up Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and guiding his five-piece outfit through a rendition of “Castles In The Snow” from his aforementioned debut. The lyric may state, “Everything I touch goes cold,” but the performance suggests just the opposite as the band draws attention away from their fearless leader’s awesome hairstyle and forces both television and studio audiences to succumb to his charms. Fallon, as usual, is excited, and a bonus video of the band tearing through “I Can’t Wait” is streaming here.

Forget can be had at Amazon.com.
